The season officially got underway last weekend with our teams taking to the field for round one. It was great to see everyone in action again after a HUGE preseason.

Friday nights are also back at the Valley with Friday Night Bites, bar & canteen, and our famous Porterhaus meat tray raffles available this Friday. This week Dave & Dan’s Girls U12 will be serving up delicious (McValley) burgers. Our pop-up merch shop will be open for game day apparel and a range of our new ISC merchandise.

SENIOR MEN HOME GAME & FAMILY DAY THIS SATURDAY
Come along to celebrate family day at Ormond Park this Saturday when our senior men play their first home game for the year taking on Taylors Lakes at 2.15pm. There will be a jumping castle and slushies on offer for the kids. For the big kids, the Ascot Vale Hotel will be serving cold tap beer under a marquee and there will be delicious steak rolls available from the BBQ. Our U8’s will be in attendance to get around our senior players. Look out for them as they participate in the warm-up and in the breaks. The forecast for the day is for a sunny 31 degrees, so bring the family down to Ormond Park for a day of footy fun.

SENIOR WOMEN ANZAC DAY CLASH v ABERFELDIE – FRIDAY 25 APRIL
Come along and see our senior women take on Aberfeldie on ANZAC Day (Friday 25 April). The match starts at 1.50pm and it would be great to get as many people down to support the girls as possible. Also a great opportunity to see our girls U10 coach and senior captain (Nadia) in action. More info on the event to follow closer to the date.

NEW CANTEEN MANAGER
You may have noticed a number of changes at Ormond Park this season, but one of particular note is our NEW Canteen Manager, Abby Marsland. Abby comes from great Moonee Valley stock and is currently playing in our senior women’s team alongside her three sisters. Yes, you heard correctly, that’s four Marsland girls in the team! Abby started playing junior footy at Moonee Valley in 2017. Outside of footy and work, Abby is studying psychology and business at Victoria University. She brings fresh ideas and a great energy to the role, and I look forward to her new menu creations.

2025 AUSKICK REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN
Calling all future footballers – Auskick registrations are now open! The Moonee Valley Auskick program runs from 2 May to 25 July 2025‍, with weekly sessions at Ormond Park on Fridays from 5pm to 6pm. For more information or to register, please click on the link below.

EOI’s TO JOIN THE MVFC WELL-BEING PROGRAM
This year, MVFC is seeking to establish a Wellbeing Program that is to contribute to fostering a safe and caring culture where players and their supporters feel supported, engaged, and happy, and we, as a community, look out for each other. We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from MVFC members (over 18 years old) to participate in this program as Wellbeing Advisors.
