Hi everyone,

As we head into round 6 this weekend, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all our volunteers – this extends to match days, and those on the committee that work tirelessly behind the scenes to get our kids playing footy. Thank you also to everyone who has spent time on the BBQ this season feeding our troops, or packing up ovals. It’s all part of the community football experience and we simply can’t do it without you. We have an incredible community at Moonee Valley and you are all doing a great job!

Last weekend we ran our Mother’s Day raffle in honour of Rachel McKenna. Thanks to everyone’s generous support we were able to raise $1,700 for local charity, GenWest, who provide critical support to victim-survivors of family violence. Amazing effort. Special thanks to Rebecca Flannagan who coordinated the night. It was sensationally run and incredibly powerful to hear Rachel’s parents, Lee and Tony, share their story. And a final thank you for the week to Tam Giuliano who once again made our Mother’s Day treats that were given out to mums, grandmothers, and special people last Sunday. I would think there would have been an exceedingly large number of baths had in the Moonee Valley region on Sunday night. Great work Tam, you are extremely generous in taking on this task!

AFL ALL GIRLS ROUND
Last week we had 20 of our U10 & U12 girls take part in the AFL All Girls Round at Marvel Stadium for the Essendon v Sydney match, participating in a mini-match during the half time break. A great experience for the girls and amazing to see our Moonee Valley jumpers being worn out on the pitch!

FRIDAY NIGHT BITES
We have delicious Chicken Souvalaki’s on the menu this week being served up by Sarah’s U12 Girls team. Get the family fed for just $10 per meal – amazing value!
