This year, MVFC is seeking to establish a
Wellbeing Program that is to contribute to fostering a safe and caring culture where players and their supporters feel supported, engaged, and happy, and we, as a community, look out for each other. We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from MVFC Members (over 18 years old) to participate in this program as Wellbeing Advisors.
Wellbeing Advisors are volunteers who serve as direct points of contact for players and their supporters. Their purpose is to provide informal and confidential support to club members who may be experiencing difficulties at the club or home and who may need assistance navigating additional and more formal support pathways. Wellbeing Advisors will also participate in developing strategies that enhance the health and well-being of our MVFC community. We are seeking two additional Wellbeing Advisors to join our program. Ideally, candidates have experience working in either the health or in the community field, but this is not essential. However, a desire to support others and enhance our MVFC culture is important.
MVFC will support Wellbeing Advisors by • Providing specialist training in Adolescence Mental Health First Aid from an external Provider. This training will be a combination of self-paced online training (approximately 6-8 hours to complete) followed by a full-day in-person training session.
• Provide support and guidance in complex matters.
• Provide every second month an opportunity to obtain professional supervision and training.
If you are keen or know someone at the club who you think would be a great fit for the role, please apply with their permission.
Please send EOIs, or if you wish to obtain further information, don’t hesitate to get in touch with
